Course Overview

Two days in the OR, building real surgical judgment

The Small Animal Surgery Short Course gives veterinarians and veterinary students hands-on, chairside training in core abdominal surgical procedures. Across two intensive days, participants work through the full arc of a surgical case — approach, technique, and closure — for gastrotomy, gastropexy, enterotomy, enterectomy, splenectomy, cystotomy, nephrectomy, and liver biopsy, building the technical confidence and judgment abdominal surgery demands.

Taught by Dr. Renato Moran Ramos, Surgery Professor at Midwestern University, the course is built for small groups so every participant gets real instrument time.
